Chart update — 28 October, 19:46 WIB snapshots
The initial edition was live at 19:12 WIB. This revision adds chart observations supplied at approximately 19:46 WIB and the released 08:30 ET data. Working context: a bullish recovery on H4/30m, with a two-way 5m/1m consolidation beneath 29,990–30,000. A dip inside this balance is not sufficient to declare a bearish trend reversal. The original cross-asset quotes below retain their individual 19:05-era timestamps; they have not been refreshed to match the chart capture.
Timeframe reading. H4 shows a rebound from the displayed 28,986.25 swing low toward 30,000, inside the wider decline from the October peak; it does not establish a fully reversed higher-timeframe downtrend. The 30m chart shows an advancing recovery and consolidation near its upper end. The 5m chart shows repeated tests around 29,900 with an indicated high of 29,989.00. The native December NQ 1m panel shows rotation around the platform's daily profile/POC marker near 29,920 rather than a clean directional breakout. Exact profile values depend on its session template. No 15m chart was supplied or independently inspected for this update.
| Reference zone, index points | Observation and conditional use |
|---|---|
| 29,965–29,990 | Upper intraday rotation/high cluster. The QQQ panel displays a mapped call wall near 29,965.65; the supplied 5m MNQ chart labels 29,989.00 as its displayed high. Treat this as a zone to evaluate acceptance or rejection, not an automatic short. |
| 30,000 | Round-number reference immediately above the high cluster. A potential upside draw, not evidence of resting orders or an obligatory target. |
| 29,890–29,905 | Repeated intraday low area and the most relevant nearby downside test. A sweep followed by a successful reclaim is different from a breakdown that holds below it. |
| 29,875–29,885 | Prior-session high/profile references visible on the native NQ panel; secondary downside reaction area if the current balance fails. Session boundaries have not been independently audited. |
| 29,815–29,820 | Approximate platform day-open reference, relevant only after sustained failure of the nearer supports. |
| 30,100–30,110; 30,224.50 | Older overhead swing area and the labelled high of the displayed 30m history. Stretch references only after acceptance above 30,000; neither is a forecast for NY lunch. |
The nearest possible upside draw is the upper cluster and 30,000; the nearest downside draw is the 29,890–29,905 low cluster. These are price-based liquidity hypotheses, not confirmed stop inventories. Keep the 29,920 balance centre out of the entry plan unless a new structure forms. Use the same December-contract execution feed to refine all approximate boundaries.
Options overlay, with limits. The supplied DeepGamma QQQ panel shows approximately +1.8b in its Summary, an upper mapped call wall near 29,965.65, and a distant mapped put wall near 29,565.65. QQQ options mapped to futures are not native NQ dealer inventory, and the conversion/settings are unverified. Positive Summary is a model-based volatility/hedging regime, not a standalone bullish signal. The distant put wall is not today's default downside target. The yellow line near 29,789.14 is not identified in this update and is not labelled VWAP or gamma flip. DeepGamma methodology
Released macro update: September's goods deficit was $134.9bn, versus revised August $132.1bn; wholesale inventories rose 0.6% and retail inventories 0.3%. These are released actuals, superseding the initial pending status. They do not independently determine NQ direction. Census, 08:30 ET release
Event guardrails: cash opens 20:30 WIB. The opening range completes at 20:45, coinciding with the Bank of Canada decision: do not treat the first range-completion print as an automatic signal. EIA/BoC press conference follow at 21:30. The Fed decision is 01:00 WIB Thursday 29 October, with the press conference at 01:30, after this edition's 23:00 coverage end. Preserve a separate event plan if trading later. BoC schedule, Federal Reserve
Chart source: supplied DeepCharts December NQ 1m/profile and DeepGamma QQQ panels; TradingView MNQ1! H4, 30m and 5m captures stamped 28 October 19:46 UTC+7. Continuous-series historical adjustment and exact NQ/MNQ tick alignment have not been verified. No broker/account details or raw screenshots are published.
Opening brief
Wednesday, 28 October 2026. Research cutoff: 2026-10-28T12:55:32.126200Z, approximately 08:55 ET / 19:55 WIB. Cash opens at 09:30 ET / 20:30 WIB; coverage ends at 12:00 ET / 23:00 WIB. New York remains on EDT, UTC−4; Jakarta is eleven hours ahead. Nasdaq’s calendar shows a regular session, with no full-session closure confirmed. Exchange calendar
Lean: cautiously bullish; confidence: low to moderate. Three drivers are fresh memory-chip earnings, an overnight report supporting Alphabet’s AI-chip opportunity, and renewed oil strength ahead of the Fed decision. Prefer a confirmed breakout retest or failed-breakdown reclaim. Overnight direction alone is not an opening entry signal.
The 08:30 ET goods-trade/inventory figures are now released; see the chart/macro update above. The next timed policy event is the Bank of Canada at 09:45 ET / 20:45 WIB. The strongest counterevidence is narrow leadership: Dow/Russell futures, Microsoft, Seagate and NXP are weaker, while current Treasury-yield confirmation is missing. Invalidate the bullish preference if NQ accepts below its completed opening range and cash-session VWAP while semiconductor leadership deteriorates. A downside wick alone is insufficient. Census schedule
December is the relevant quarterly contract: NQZ26/MNQZ26. CME lists December expiry on 18 December and customary roll on 14 December. Yahoo’s NQ reference explicitly identifies December 2026, but remains a front-month reference rather than an independent settlement source. CME roll calendar
What changed since Tuesday’s cash close
Verified earnings: SK hynix reported K-IFRS revenue of KRW104.6155tn, operating profit of KRW83.3338tn, an approximately 80% operating margin, and net income of KRW39.7756tn. HBM4 expansion and contracted future capacity support demand visibility; investment is expected to increase significantly next year. Kioxia-related special distributions should not be treated as recurring memory earnings. Company release
FnGuide expectations reported by Korea JoongAng Daily were KRW98.23tn revenue, KRW76.96tn operating profit and KRW61.29tn net profit: strong operating beats coexist with a net-profit miss. No comparable EPS estimate is adopted. Expectations
Seagate’s after-close report delivered $4.233bn revenue, $7.59 GAAP EPS and $7.68 adjusted EPS. GAAP/adjusted gross margins were 57.3%/57.8%; next-quarter guidance is $4.8bn revenue ±$100m and adjusted EPS $9.20 ±$0.20. Adjusted guidance excludes stock compensation and is not a complete GAAP forecast. Seagate Reported consensus was $4.15bn revenue/$7.45 adjusted EPS; another aggregator showed $7.43, so the EPS benchmark varies. The negative stock response means an accounting beat is not sufficient evidence of buying demand. Consensus comparison
NXP reported $3.786bn revenue, $3.48 GAAP EPS and $4.20 adjusted EPS. Its fourth-quarter adjusted EPS guidance spans $4.14–4.58. A comparable consensus was not independently reconciled. Its weaker premarket snapshot reinforces dispersion within semiconductors; memory strength does not establish a sector-wide earnings upgrade. NXP release
This morning, Biogen reported $2.8bn revenue, −$0.14 GAAP EPS versus $2.62 non-GAAP EPS, and raised the lower end of annual adjusted EPS guidance to $12.20–13.00. Transaction charges materially affect comparability; even adjusted EPS includes $284m of acquired research, upfront and milestone expense. A verified current stock reaction and comparable consensus are unavailable here. Biogen release
Reported, not company-confirmed: Reuters relayed The Information’s report that OpenAI plans to buy Google AI chips; financial terms were undisclosed, Google had not commented and OpenAI declined comment. This could expand Alphabet’s external chip business while intensifying accelerator competition. Alphabet’s positive snapshot is consistent with that interpretation, but timing does not prove causation. Microsoft and Alphabet’s own earnings remain pending. Reuters
Energy counterweight: oil has rebounded overnight. The Ras Tanura attack claim originated Tuesday; Reuters’ Wednesday report said Saudi authorities had not immediately confirmed the claimed refinery strike. Fresh reporting on Qatari mediation does not establish an agreement or restored supply. Higher energy costs could pressure inflation expectations and technology valuations, but the current Treasury response is unverified. No independently confirmed new trade-policy measure is added to the thesis. Oil reporting, mediation report
Cross-asset evidence
Public snapshots, not executable prices. Futures/dollar observations are approximately ten minutes behind cutoff; VIX approximately fifteen minutes. Equity/ETF bars have individual timestamps; NXP is older. Equity changes use October 27 regular-session references. Interpretation: leadership extends beyond one stock but remains concentrated in technology. SOXX is an ETF, not a cash semiconductor index. The stale 10Y reference cannot establish today’s rates direction. Measure subsequent yield changes in basis points; do not assume fixed equity/rates correlations.

The earlier edition cited approximately $130bn trade-deficit consensus; that forecast has not been refreshed. The released August comparison is now verified at $132.1bn. Other unverified expectations remain unavailable. Census actuals and revisions
The Fed’s existing range is 3.75–4.00%; an unchanged decision is an expectation, not a result. No October 28 Board speech appears before the decision on its checked calendar. The UK Budget and GDPNow update are additional headline risks today; exact publication minutes were not independently established. Fed baseline, Parliament, Atlanta Fed
Interpret growth and inflation jointly: a narrower deficit caused by import contraction differs from stronger exports; inventory accumulation can support GDP while signalling unsold goods. Stronger growth with sharply rising yields could hurt NQ multiples. Require actual rates and equity confirmation. Tonight’s cloud growth, margins, capex and cash conversion are still unknown and cannot explain this morning’s move.
Ranked conditional opening scenarios
- Failed breakdown and bullish reclaim. Near 29,890–29,905, require a completed two-minute reclaim after a failed downside break, then a separate retest that holds and semiconductor participation that remains supportive. Invalidate below the actual sweep/retest swing; stop distance must fit the risk budget. Reassess at the 29,920 balance centre, then 29,965–29,990. Do not short a reclaimed breakdown merely because the prior snapshot looked weak. If repeated reclaim attempts fail, abandon this long scenario.
- Accepted upside breakout. Wait for the completed opening range, then acceptance above both the actual upper balance/high and the opening-range high, followed by a holding retest. The relevant overhead references are 29,965–29,990 and 30,000; an isolated wick above them is insufficient. Invalidate on failed retest and sustained return inside the balance. Only then assess 30,100–30,110 or 30,224.50 as further references if room and participation remain. Do not chase an extended first candle or enter directly into the 20:45 BoC release.
- Bearish rotation after acceptance below support. Require a completed two-minute close beneath 29,890, a failed reclaim from below, deterioration in chips and cash-session structure/VWAP confirmation. References below are 29,875–29,885, then 29,815–29,820 only if the nearer level fails. Sustained reclaim of the broken zone invalidates the bearish continuation; do not keep the old short thesis after its condition fails. A single low sweep is insufficient. If both sides reject, wait rather than repeatedly switching direction inside the range.
Two-minute execution playbook
Use only breakout/breakdown retests and failed-break reclaims/rejections. Acceptance means a completed two-minute close beyond the reference followed by a retest that holds; it is an execution rule, not proof of institutional activity.
First five minutes: observe spreads, opening volatility and leadership; no automatic entry. Minutes 5–15: map the developing range. Only consider a failed break at an independently verified overnight reference. The 09:30–09:45 opening range is incomplete until 09:45; the BoC release at that moment requires another assessment.
Minutes 15–60: favour the highest-ranked scenario that actually confirms. Do not enter just before 10:00 releases; wait for subsequent completed bars and a retest. 10:30–12:00: reassess after EIA, then around 11:30 auctions and 11:55 Oracle. Stop forcing continuation if rotations dominate. Structural stop distance must fit the trader’s predetermined risk budget; no contract count or fixed profit target is supplied.
Today’s no-trade conditions
Stand aside for stale feeds, unavailable structural references, disorderly spreads, an already extended move, conflicting leadership, repeated failed retests, imminent releases, or a stop distance exceeding the risk budget.
Desk card
- Lean: cautiously bullish, conditional on cash-session confirmation.
- Best long: failed downside break/reclaim at support or accepted upside breakout/retest, with chips holding strength.
- Best short: accepted breakdown, failed reclaim and semiconductor deterioration.
- Invalidation: sustained acceptance below the completed opening range and VWAP cancels the bullish preference.
- Levels: supplied-chart zones: 29,890–29,905 support, 29,965–29,990 upper cluster, 30,000 round number; execution-feed verification required.
- Next timed catalyst: BoC at 09:45 ET / 20:45 WIB, at opening-range completion; Fed 14:00 ET / 01:00 WIB October 29 is outside coverage.
- Avoid: chasing overnight gains or trading directly into scheduled releases.
- Conditional edge: combine fresh operating evidence with accepted opening structure, abandoning direction when participation fails.
Data limitations and refresh
This revision adds the supplied 19:46 charts and released Census actuals. Original cross-asset quote timestamps are retained; current 2Y/10Y confirmation, independently verified cash-session VWAP and order flow remain unavailable. Chart/profile references and mapped QQQ gamma have the stated source/mapping limits. No positioning, index-point contribution or day-type claim is made. Metavulus calendar, headlines and daily research served as leads. This is a timestamped edition, not continuous monitoring.
